Fresh off winning two trophies at the 2017 Emmy Awards, Childish Gambino is back to work on the show that got him the W's. According to Atlanta Magazine, the talented rapper/actor/comedian has begun filming for Atlanta season 2.

Film crews have been spotted all around Atlanta and casting calls for extras have been posted on a casting website. Those casting calls include "trash white characters," "very tan caucasians to portray Floridians" and a "sketchy mom cheering on someone getting beat up." Should be pretty interesting.

Season one of Gambino's Atlanta aired on FX last fall, and with its blend of social commentary, humor and surrealism, it earned plenty of critical acclaim. That's why it was renewed for a second season just a few weeks after its debut, and it's also why he won some Golden Globe trophies and, of course those aforementioned Emmys.

Speaking at the 2017 Emmys, Gambino thanked his mentor and collaborator Hiro Mai for his help. “This really belongs to Hiro Murai,” Gambino said, thanking the man who’s directed more than a few of his music videos in the past and many of the Atlanta episodes. “He had the eye for the show first, he’s really amazing. Thank you.”

There's no word on when the first episode of Atlanta season 2 will premiere.
