It sounds like Dr. Dre might be putting the finishing touches on Eminem's new album.

Allan Hughes, director of the Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine documentary, The Defiant Ones, recently chopped it up with Uproxx and said that Dre is still heavy in the studio and revealed the super produer and Slim will be reuniting on the rap god's latest offering.

“Dre still records,” Hughes said. “People don’t know this: Dre records every day. Literally, he’s in there recording songs every day. He’s like Picasso in that way. He’s always painting. Right now he’s producing, in the 11th hour, a track for Eminem’s latest album. So Dre’s still real active in music, you know? But I hear what you’re saying. It’s the truth.”

If accurate, this would be great news for fans of the 8 Mile rapper. Especially after getting people all riles up last year. Last October, the Detroit rapper teased fans that a new album was on the way with the release of the new song, "Campaign Speech." “Don’t worry I’m working on an album! Here’s something meanwhile,” he posted.

Since then, the news of a new Em project has died down. He's appeared on tracks sparingly, including his infamous verse on Big Sean's "No Favors."

The new project would be Shady's ninth LP and first in four years. He released his last album, The Marshall Mathers LP 2, in October 2013. It has since reached platinum status four times over. Dre didn't produced any songs off Em's last LP and only one track off his 2010 album, Recovery.
