👮‍♂️Polk County Sheriff's Office Employee Arrested

👮‍♂️The charge is theft by a public servant

👮‍♂️It's believed that funds were misappropriated for around three years


At the request of the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Texas Rangers arrested a Polk County Sheriff’s Office employee – following an investigation that began in February of this year – on a charge of theft by a public servant.

Jessica Renee David-Yancy, 38, was placed in the Polk County Jail on a second-degree felony. She was booked into the jail Friday, March 10 at 9:18 am. Her bond was set at $7500.

Investigators believe David misappropriated inmate funds for approximately three years for personal use. No specifics on those alleged misappropriations nor dollar amounts were reported in the press release.

This is an ongoing investigation. Additional information is not available at this time. More information will be reported once any other details are released.

In a separate incident, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office is requesting the assistance of the public in obtaining information in regards to a Burglary that occurred on FM 2665, east of Goodrich, between Saturday, March 4, and Monday, March 6.

According to a post on the Polk County Sheriff's Office's Facebook Page, a 2013 black Kawasaki Brute Force 300 ATV, a 2019 silver Kawasaki Brute Force 750 ATV, Echo Bear Cat generator that is black and orange in color with a paw print on the side were stolen.
