This town, actually considered a village, is located between Austin and San Antonio. It may be small with a population of less than 3,000, but it's full of adventure. From ziplining to the home of the Blue Hole Regional Park which has won the Tripadvisor Travelers' Choice 2022 Award two years in a row and Jacob's Well swimming hole. Plus fun antique and boutique shopping in Wimberley Square.

#4  Marfa, Texas

This small town of under 2,000 residents is located in West Texas. It's known for its art galleries. It also is home to the Marfa Army Air Field a great site for WWII buffs because a lot of WWII pilots were trained there. There are also the mysterious Marfa Lights out in the desert.

#3 Hunt, Texas

This is an incorporated area in the middle of Hill County and has a population of 1,500 residents. Hunt is located on the banks of the Guadalupe River about 20 miles from Kerrville, Texas. It's popular with tourists and campers especially in the summer for water sports. You'll have to stop by the famous Hunt Store, it's the area's grocery store, bank, local pub and restaurant. Plus there is also the Crider’s Rodeo and Dance Hall and a YO Headquarters where you can see giraffes.

 

#2 Fredericksburg, Texas

Fredericksburg is bigger than the other towns on the list with a population of 10,000. Located in the Hill Country and right in the middle of Texas Wine Country. It was established in the mid-1800s by german immigrants. Now it's popular for, you guessed it... all the wineries. But it also has the WWII National Museum of the Pacific War, beautiful churches, shopping, a living history farm, and the Lyndon B Johnson State Park. Oh, and I hear this is a great place to celebrate Oktoberfest.

If you live in east texas then you know about Jefferson, Texas. With a population of only 1,875, this little town has a lot to offer. Tons of antique shopping and great restaurants too. But it also has a lot of Texas state history. Jefferson was once the most important port town in Texas. It has the oldest continuously run hotel in the state, the Excelsior House Hotel and it's haunted. You'll love checking out the Jefferson General Store and all the fun little shops around the center of town. There is also a great little nature walk close to town.
