I don’t believe I’ve ever been more baffled by Dallas-Fort Worth drivers than I am right now. Seriously, I have so many questions about the accident in the video below.

How Did No One Notice the Stoplight? 

My first thought was that every single one of the four drivers involved in the accident at the intersection was distracted. That would certainly explain how no one was paying any attention to the stoplight.

But we’re talking about DFW drivers here. One thing I learned after years of driving there is that pretty much everyone is in a hurry and incredibly impatient. So, it’s quite possible that every driver tried to impose their will, assuming the other drivers would yield to them. You know, a good old-fashioned game of chicken (in which everyone lost).

Why Driving in the Metroplex Raises Anxiety Levels

Whatever the case may be, incidents like that one are why my anxiety levels go through the roof when I’m behind the wheel in the Metroplex. I already consider myself to be a pretty good defensive driver, but I’m on extra high alert when I’m on the roads down there. 

I mean, they don’t call it the “Metromess” for nothing.
