30+ Candies Sold at Texas Walmarts, Targets & More Stores Recalled
The FDA has issued a massive recall for over 30 different candy brands made by an Iowa company that ships their confectionary sweets and treats nationwide. The company self-reported the recall of their products in early May.
The Iowa based Palmer Candy Company announced the recall of their "White Coated Confectionary Items" that are distributed to various retailers across the country, including Walmart, Target, and Dollar General.
The recall impacts a variety of retail packages and brands that include white-coated confectionary items that you might recognize as white chocolate, particularly including pretzels.

From the Recall Announcement
The product comes in a variety of retail packaging like bags, pouches and tubs.
No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this problem.
Palmer Candy was notified by its liquid coating supplier that there was a potential for contamination with salmonella from an ingredient that was potentially contaminated from one of their suppliers.
Production of the product has been suspended while FDA and the company continue their investigation as to the source of the problem.
Consumers who have purchased White coated confectionary items manufactured by Palmer Candy Company are urged to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
