Recently, rumors have been swirling across Louisiana: Was John Travolta filming a new movie in a small town here? Social media was buzzing with speculation as blurry fan photos popped up and theories spread like wildfire. But now, the mystery is solved—and it turns out, the Hollywood star was just a short drive from the Louisiana state line.

NOLA.com confirmed that Travolta is currently filming Cash Out 3, the latest installment of the action-adventure franchise, along the Mississippi Gulf Coast. While fans in Louisiana hoped for a local sighting, the production has been spotted in several Mississippi cities just outside the state, including Gulfport and Ocean Springs.

On Tuesday, downtown Ocean Springs transformed into a movie set as Travolta was seen filming scenes along Washington Avenue. Wearing jeans, a black shirt, and a hat, he strolled the sidewalks near Moxie Boutique and The Lady May restaurant while extras dressed as tourists filled the background. The area was partially blocked off, but that didn’t stop curious folks from gathering to catch a look.

According to NOLA.com, Travolta was also seen dining in Gulfport at The Rack House Steaks & Spirits, where he reportedly enjoyed crab cakes and filet mignon. Locals shared sightings on Facebook as well, stirring up.

Filming is expected to continue along the Mississippi Coast for the next couple of weeks, with crews working in various beachside locations and at a local golf course.

While the *Grease* and *Saturday Night Fever* star hasn’t made a stop in Louisiana just yet, the close proximity of the shoot is enough to keep his biggest Louisiana fans hopeful. After all, with Biloxi and Gulfport just an hour or two from many Louisiana towns, some say they are willing to take that ride for a chance at a star sighting—just across the state line.
