Locals Stunned as Meteor Streaks Across West Texas

In the vast universe we inhabit, it's easy to realize how small our small part of the Permian Basin truly is in which we live.

This is especially true when it comes to celestial objects that appear in our night skies.

Meteor Spotted in Midland-Odessa

Over the course of the weekend, several locals took to social media to post videos of what looked like an impressive pair of meteors dancing across the Permian Basin and West Texas.

Many witnesses of the meteors were left in awe as they fell to Earth.  One large meteor and a smaller meteor following close behind.

Since the second meteor was in such close proximity, it is likely that the second meteor was part of the bigger meteor and broke off at some point upon entering our atmosphere.  However, that is pure speculation.

TikTok Spreads Comedy in Comments

One thing that social media will never have any shortage of is people who make light of a situation, whether it be comical or even serious. Multiple comments on some of the meteor videos were filled with commenters who cracked jokes.

Apparently, after going through the comments on social media, this celestial event was seen by people all across New Mexico and Texas.
