It is widely known that Tom Cruise is a huge champion for movies and movie theaters. The man not only loves making movies, but he loves to see movies the way they were meant to be seen: in a movie theater! Now, the Hollywood icon is setting his sights on the Lone Star state to promote his final mission as Ethan Hunt.

Tom Cruise is officially coming to Texas- and he’s not just here for the barbecue. The Hollywood icon is making high-profile stops in San Antonio and Dallas to promote Mission: Impossible- The Final Reckoning, the eighth and final installment in the blockbuster franchise.

From surprise theater appearances to mingling with service members and hunting down the best brisket in the state, Cruise’s Texas tour is revving up excitement ahead of the film’s nationwide release.

So, what’s on the agenda for Cruise deep in the heart of Texas? The action star is kicking things off on May 22nd in San Antonio with a visit to Fort Sam Houston, where he’ll greet service members and bring some Hollywood excitement to military life.

From there, he’s expected to pop into local theaters for surprise screenings with some very lucky fans to check out some of the first looks at the final Mission: Impossible. Then it’s off to the Dallas area, where Cruise has hinted at a mission of a different kind- finding the best Texas-style barbecue!

While he hasn't specified which barbecue spot he'll choose, local food enthusiasts have suggested places like Smokey John's near Love Field, Kafi BBQ in Irving, and Vaqueros Texas Bar-B-Q in Allen as potential stops.

Mission: Impossible-The Final Reckoning, which has already premiered in Korea, continues the storyline from 2023's Dead Reckoning Part One, with Ethan Hunt (played by Cruise) facing off against a rogue AI entity. The film is notable for being the longest in the series, with a runtime of nearly three hours!

Whether you’re a lifelong Mission: Impossible fan or just hoping to catch a glimpse of Cruise in the wild, his Texas tour adds a thrilling local twist to one of Hollywood’s biggest movie events of the year. With The Final Reckoning promising high-stakes action and emotional goodbyes, there’s no better place for a star-powered sendoff than right here in the Lone Star State.
