Is Will Ferrell working on a new one-man show? The former SNL star seems to be trotting out a number of his fan-favorite characters for late-night, the other day resurrecting Harry Caray to talk about the cubs with Kimmel. Today, the tour continues, as Ferrell brings George “Dubya” Bush back to Chris Hardwick’s @Midnight.

We missed out on Back to the Future 2 premonitions by one year, but the Chicago Cubs making it to their first World Series in 71 years is no less historic. Reilly are reuniting for another new movie, which is still pretty great news. The actors are teaming up for Holmes and Watson, in which they’ll work their hilariously juvenile magic on the iconic literary duo of Sherlock Holmes and his pal, good ol’ Watson.

We’re likely going to see HBO on a tear of new original pilots, given new management and some notable recent flops, and the first new drama orders are certainly promising. One new series ordered to pilot from Anchorman team Adam McKay and Will Ferrell sounds like Arrested Development as high drama, while another from Kathryn Bigelow will take us to Mogadishu, Minnesota.

With everyone obsessed with Star Wars: The Force Awakens, very few people noticed the other huge hit of December: the Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg comedy Daddy’s Home. Very quietly, this film about the rivalry between a square stepdad (Ferrell) and a supercool biological father (Wahlberg) grossed more than $150 million in the U.S. and $240 million worldwide. The movie made $70 million more than The Other Guys, the first film that paired Ferrell and Wahlberg together as mismatched buddies, and it was Ferrell’s biggest comedy since Elf back in 2003. Daddy’s Home was a bigger success than the first Anchorman or Talladega Nights (or any Adam McKay / Will Ferrell movie, for that matter).

Get a few drinks in a group of guy-pals, and antics inevitably arise: doing donuts in an abandoned parking lot, maybe hitting a strip club, the odd snowmobile expedition to the North Pole — you know, guy stuff. If you’ve logged onto Facebook or trolled Reddit today, you surely saw the exciting news: Step Brothers 2 is officially happening and it begins filming this year! Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly are back and they’re taking care of a baby! Oh great, a sequel to one of the funniest comedies of the past 25 years! Except it’s not true.

Leave it to Kanye to bestow such an honor.

Will Ferrell is at his best when he’s at his most outrageous. Give me Mugatu tossing hot coffee in his assistant’s face, a giddy adult elf, or a chubby ‘70s band mate banging the cowbell. But as a straight-laced, jazz-loving stepfather? No thanks.

Maybe you didn’t realize how much you missed Will Ferrell’s George W. Bush impression on SNL until the actor popped in for a surprise appearance during the cold open, delivering a State of the Union address on our current crop of GOP presidential hopefuls — which is essentially just Ferrell’s Dubbya roasting his fellow Republicans in an attempt to make an unprecedented bid for a third term as POTUS.

Cult comedies that attempt to regroup for a sequel many years after the original film often have mixed success. You’ll probably find few people who like Anchorman 2 or Dumb and Dumber To as much as the originals. But, that hasn’t stopped Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson from returning for Zoolander 2 and, despite the odds, this actually looks really funny.
