The 2012 People’s Choice Awards have released a lengthy list of contenders for next year’s ceremony, with Katy Perry and Lady Gaga predictably leading the way. Each award features 12 possible contenders, and it’s up to fans to narrow down the choices to the final five nominees in each category.

Perry’s name appears in six music categories, more than any other artist. She’s under consideration for Favorite Female Artist, Pop Artist, Tour Headliner, Song of the Year for ‘E.T.,’ and Music Video for both ‘E.T.’ and ‘Last Friday Night.’

Perry actually earns a seventh nod in the Favorite TV Guest Star category for her ‘How I Met Your Mother’ cameo. Justin Bieber‘s ‘CSI’ appearance also merits consideration for that award, along with three actresses who appeared on ‘Glee‘: Gwyneth Paltrow, Kristin Chenoweth, and Kathy Griffin.

Gaga has five possible nominations, tied with Beyonce, Kanye West and Pitbull. All four artists are up for Favorite Music Video, along with the likes of Chris Brown, Adele and Nicki Minaj.

Glee‘ is up for Favorite Network TV Comedy and has three contenders for TV Comedy Actor: Chris Colfer, Corey Monteith and Matthew Morrison. ‘American Idol‘ and ‘The Voice‘ are both among the 12 possible nominees for Favorite TV Competition Show.
