Solo may take us to Star Wars’ past, but Jon Favreau is cluing us into the future. The director-producer reveals first details of his new live-action TV series, promising new characters and a post-Jedi setting.
As Star Wars Rebels ends, Disney is taking the TV franchise lightyears ahead. The mind behind Disney streaming’s live-action Star Wars TV series is none other than Jon Favreau, who will write and produce.
Even as Disney’s independent streaming service will launch in fall 2019, the TV side is already taking shape. Not only do we have a sense of what budget the Star Wars TV series and its companions will have (hint: dragon-sized), but we also know The Defenders are safe at Netflix.
Whether or not you recognized the great Barbara Billingsley as voice of the Muppet Babies’ Miss Nanny, her successor is in good company. Disney Junior confirms Zootopia star Jenny Slate will take over as the faceless character, while Kermit, Piggy, Gonzo and more get new voices as well.
