Human equality has an unlikely champion from the world of hip-hop in Macklemore. Macklemore says he believes in human rights, civil rights and equal rights for all.
What are you doing this fall? If Macklemore & Ryan Lewis have anything to do with it, you'll be partying with them in a theater (or arena) near you! The 'Can't Hold Us' rapper and producer have announced a fall tour that will hit major cities all over the U.S.
Meet Alex G, who does a pretty darn credible version of Macklemore's Thrift Shop. She took some liberties with the words. I have to wonder why she edits some things yet still references a 'skeet' blanket??? Maybe she doesn't know what that means?
She reminds me of Amy from Karmin!!! I love this 'vintage' cover of Macklemore and Ryan Lewis' Thrift Shop. What do you think? As they say on all of the singing competitions, 'Did they make it their own?'
Have you REALLY listened to Macklemore's Thrift Shop? The first few times your hear it, it feels like pure pop candy: catchy and totally singable. The next couple of listens, you start catching some of the lyrics, like the one about spending $50 on a t-shirt. So, is this song bubble gum or is it lyrical genius?
