We’re still waiting on Jon Stewart’s official return after signing an HBO contract, but Stephen Colbert has thus far afforded the former Daily Show host ample opportunity to have his voice heard. Case in point, Stewart makes yet another Late Show return, as he and Colbert make sense of Trump’s relationship with the press.
If ever conservative madmen escaped into the real world, Stephen Colbert would be judge. The Late Show host’s not-quite Colbert Report alter-ego returned to have the final “Werd” on Barack Obama’s presidency, the full clip of which you can watch right now.
Whether or not you believe that Trump’s Hamilton controversy with VP-Elect Mike Pence was intended to draw attention from the Trump University settlement, it certainly made for one of the more unusual Presidential feuds in history, Hamilton included. So much so, that Stephen Colbert sought to enter the conflict into history with its own Hamilton-esque hip-hop musical.
I’ve missed Jon Stewart. I’m guessing you have too. The Daily Show continues in his absence with Trevor Noah at the helm, and it’s not a bad TV show. But it’s not the same. For one night only, though, the old Daily Show magic was back, on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.
