We have just received a boil water notice from Seneca Water Supply Corporation. They service the Woodville Area.

Due to a 6 inch line break, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has required our water system Seneca Water Supply Corporation public water supply ID #2290011, to notify customers of the need to boil their water prior to consumption.

To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking and making ice should be boiled and cooled prior to use. The water should be brought to a vigorous, rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes. In lieu of boiling, you may purchase bottled water or obtain water from some other suitable source.

When it is no longer necessary to boil the water, the water system officials will notify you that the water is safe for consumption." - Seneca Water Supply Corporation

Sometimes an easier option than boiling the water is to just drink bottled water for the duration. But but boiling is sometimes a more cost effective measure. It's also a good reminder that there are some places in your house making potable water that you never think of.  So make sure and turn off your ice makers in your refrigerators.  Also remember that you can't even brush your teeth with the water, until the boil water notice has been lifted.
