Construction Closes Part of Loop 287 and Connection to Rt. 59 in Lufkin

Martin Grossinger/Townsquare Media

Beginning July 10 2014, westbound traffic on Loop 287 in Lufkin will be reduced to one lane at Business 59.

The Loop will be down to one lane westbound for a couple of days while work is done on the Business 59 bridge and ramp north of town.

TXDOT hopes the work will be completed by Friday, and can reopen all lanes of traffic on Loop 287 as well as a new connector that will better link the Loop and Route 59, north of Lufkin.

We’ll update this story, as well as the status of FM 2021, tomorrow when we receive more information from TXDOT.
