I have been seeing a lot of friends on Facebook taking advantage of the new dog park in Lufkin. It's inside Grace Dunne Richardson Park. You can enjoy two fenced off play areas for small and large dogs. There are also multiple water fountains for your dog to beat the summer heat!

"We love the dog park, Chico and Heidi both wear themselves out running and jumping," Local resident Kristen Hall told KFOX, "My Bloodhound, Beauxdabee, finally has a safe place to be let off the lead to run and find scents to track. We have met some really nice people out there." She also really likes the amenities there. "There's lots of shade, benches, and water fountains for the humans as well as the dogs. Waste bags and receptacles are made available, and they even have a few agility obstacles."

There are a lot of other things to do at Grace Dunne, even if you don't bring your dog. It's one of two City of Lufkin parks that are connected to the Azalea Trail. The park also has playground equipment, a gazebo, and pavilion. If you go take a look at it, then be sure to stop into Whataburger on the way. They raised funds back in January to get the dog park finished for the city, and for that, we thank them.
