The Hotel Fredonia is throwing their First Annual Fredonia Fest this Saturday, May 26th from 6:30pm to 9:30pm. This is a live concert that will benefit the Stephen F. Austin Veterans Resource Center. Susan Pack-Reents, the owner and general manager of the Hotel, wants to give back to the community with a fun family friendly event. 20% of all the door proceeds will benefit the Veterans Center.

Tickets can be purchased by calling the Hotel at 936-564-1234. Pre sale tickets are $10 and $15 day of show. You can also purchase a table of 8 for $100.00.

The Veterans Resource Center is a new center that just opened its doors this March but will be having a grand opening this fall. The center provides support services such as, disability services, counseling, career services, health services and Bridge Loan Relief. The center also provides scholarship information and academic support. The Veterans Center is located in the Baker Pattillo Student Center.

The Fredonia Fest will be featuring two young artists from Texas. Taylor Heard from Omaha Texas and the Tyler Lenius Band. Tyler Lenius is also a Texas native who has been singing since he was 15. Tyler has already recorded one album and is traveling all around Texas. The Tyler Lenius Band has been influenced by bands such as Stevie Ray Vaughn and John Mayer. The band consists of three members from around the Texas area. I have listened to some tracks on the website, and this is one talented band.
