The Kidd Kraddick Morning Show got to talk to the man who's played the role of James Bond for the last four movies, Daniel Craig.

Chris Cornell, whose shocking death at age 52 has jolted the music world, may have been known best as the lead singer of Soundgarden, but his music also appeared prominently on numerous film soundtracks, and he even made the occasional onscreen cameo. Cornell’s signature high-pitched wail, either fronting his full band or as a solo artist, helped color movies across all genres, from action (The Avengers) to thriller (Pacific Heights), comedy (Wayne’s World) to drama (The Basketball Diaries), and even Tarantino (True Romance). To honor the late musician, we’ve rounded up the five best Cornell songs featured in movies.

Remember way back when people criticized Daniel Craig’s casting as James Bond, with some even saying he was too blond for the role? Well, the times have changed, and with Sony searching for new some new blood to eventually fill 007’s shoes, it looks like they’re willing to pay Craig the big bucks to stick around for a few more installments.

If you like James Bond movies, you have several people to thank for your hero. Ian Fleming, obviously; he wrote the original Bond novels. Harry Saltzman and Albert R. “Cubby” Broccoli, who produced and guided the franchise for decades; Terence Young, who directed the first two movies with star Sean Connery. And then there’s Guy Hamilton, who helmed perhaps the greatest Bond adventure of them all, Goldfinger. Sadly, per the BBC, Hamilton past away on Wednesday in a hospital on the Spanish island of Majorca. He was 93 years old.

Thor star Tom Hiddleston was sitting for an interview with British newspaper The Sunday Times when they sprang the Bond question, and the actor was not shy about his desires.

The identity of the performer chosen to sing the new James Bond theme song is almost always as exciting as the buildup to the release of the film itself — even British bookies have placed odds on which pop star would sing the theme for Spectre, with Sam Smith coming in as the heavy favorite. Smith has previously denied his involvement and feigned obliviousness, but it looks like the singer / songwriter has recorded the new Bond theme after all.

Daniel Craig was cast as James Bond back in October 2005 and almost immediately there was controversy. A London newspaper ran the headline the next morning “The Name’s Bland – James Bland” and fans started up the site danielcraigisnotbond.com urging moviegoers to boycott Casino Royale. Now, three films into Craig’s era as 007 (with the last being the most critically and commercially successful James Bond film of all-time), the actor is talking about leaving the franchise and, in a sign of how far public opinion has reversed, fans couldn’t be more upset.
