Just 10 months ago, Hurricane Harvey and its remnants caused some $125 BILLION in damages, mainly from the widespread flooding across the Houston and Beaumont areas.  The first few days of this week, a tropical system is expected to drop anywhere from 5 to 10 inches of rain, with isolated higher amounts, across the Texas coast from Corpus Christi to near Galveston.  While the historic flooding of August 2017 is not expected with this weather event, it's understandable that residents in those areas are staying wary.

Closer to home, widespread rainfall amounts of up to 3 inches (with isolated higher amounts) could happen across Deep East Texas.  Rain chances will be in the forecast through the entire week, but Monday and Tuesday will bring the highest rainfall probabilities.  The map below indicates how much total rainfall is expected through Friday.
