The 2016 Texas Blueberry Festival presented by Tipton Ford is from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. this Saturday in downtown Nacogdoches. Blueberry-sweet fun with free admission and 100+ vendors. If you like blueberries they will have them in everything you can imagine! Brookshire Brothers is bringing them in by the truck load so you can stock up by the pallet full. I know I am!

The Blueberry Bluegrass Concert presented by Rex Perry Autoplex, 6 p.m. gets things started tomorrow (Friday) in Festival Park. Then wake up bright and early and participate in this year's Running of the Blueberries 5K, 7:30 a.m. at the Coy Simms Softball Fields, 801-Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. It's a timed  5K road run on the Lanana Creek Trail and benefits Dog Park Nacogdoches. They are also celebrating the Nacogdoches Tricentennial. Local business are doing some very interesting things in the 300 hours leading up to the festival.

One thing that I always forget to go to is the blueberry pancake breakfast. It was so good.  Pie and cupcake baking contests, pie eating contest, a motorcycle and car show , and the True Blue Pet Parade.  Listen up for live entertainment on the three different stages, kids activities like cupcake decorating contest, craft corner, bounce land. For the adults there is a 42 Tourney and more. So if you get a chance stop by and get ready for a good time, and lots of blueberries!
