Adele’s Vocal Cord Surgery a Success, Says Doctor

Adele's surgery on her vocal cords is complete, and it was a success. The Los Angeles Times reports that the hospital where Adele had the procedure, Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, announced that her doctor "expects [her] to make a full recovery."

The operation was laser microsurgery to stop some bleeding on Adele's vocal cord from a benign polyp. Her doctor, Dr. Steven Zeitels, has performed this operation on singers several times -- Steven Tyler of Aerosmith was one of his patients. I think he still sounds the same...so he must be very good at it!

After suffering from vocal issues for months, Adele was forced to cancel the rest of her 2011 tour and all remaining appearances for the remainder of the year.
