Danny Merrell is the Director of Content for Townsquare Media in Lufkin/Nacogdoches, TX, where he also hosts the popular Merrell in the Morning Show on KICKS 105. With a career in radio broadcasting that began in 1979 in Lockhart, TX, Danny has been a fixture of East Texas media since 1990, earning a reputation as a trusted and entertaining voice. Danny attended UT-Austin and Texas A&M, but his heart belongs to Stephen F. Austin State University (SFA), where he serves as the public address announcer for the school’s football and basketball teams. His deep ties to the community are reflected in his award-winning work, including the 2009 Angelina County Golden Anvil Award for his Hurricane Ike coverage and being voted Best of Lufkin Radio Personality since 2015.
