Bedroom Makeover Project At Lufkin State Supported Living Center
The Lufkin State Supported Living Center is seeking assistance from employees, volunteers and the community for a bedroom make over project. They are currently are focusing on personalizing the bedrooms of 6 girls and 4 boys. All but one is a teenager so the need is for “teen” themed items.
The request is that items donated be gently used or new.
Some needs include:
Chalkboard/Dry Erase Board
Various bedroom chairs
Bean Bags
Video game chairs
Pillows
Area Rugs
Posters and Poster frame (no glass)
Coat racks
Small desks and shelving
Storage crates
Lamps
Comforters/Throws
Small tables and dressers
Picture Frames (remove glass)
Storage bins
Gaming Systems and age appropriate games
Greenery
Smaller personal interest items that you may see in a teenager’s room:
art supplies
games
collectable cards (baseball card, POKEMON cards etc.)
Jewelry boxes
Craft projects
Small buckets
Sports Balls
Collectable items non-breakable items
Alarm clock
Teenage nick-nacks
Books
Teen magazines
If you have items that you would be willing to donate, the center will be collecting until Tuesday, January 17, 2012. Items can be dropped off at the Switchboard or Community Relations. Arrangements can be made for pick up items as well by calling 853-8262.
