During this time of the year, you can't turn on the TV without seeing a Christmas movie. From 'Frosty the Snowman' to 'Miracle on 34th Street', you can find your favorite classic Christmas movie almost anywhere. And, not that those movies are bad, but we see them every single year...usually multiple times.

Well, if you're in the mood for something different this Christmas season, here's a list of my favorite non-traditional Christmas films. If you're in the mood for a horror film, I got you covered. If you want to laugh, go you there to. Everything from westerns to the weird is represented on this list for your viewing enjoyment.

Now, if there's an off the wall Christmas film you LOVE, let us know on our station's app.

Die Hard

“Now I have a machine gun. Ho ho ho.” This movie is an annual, must watch Christmas classic, no matter what people on the internet say.

Santa's Slay

The tagline says it all: "He's making a list...pray you're not on it."

Edward Scissorhands

In the scheme of classic Tim Burton movies, this one often gets overlooked. But you watch this and try not to smile when Edward makes it snow in the town for the first time ever! There is NO wrong time of the year to watch Edward Scissorhands...but Christmas is definitely a good time to watch.

Ice Harvest

This modern day film noir is set on Christmas Eve. It's a fun, dark thriller that you have to watch at least once.

Batman Returns

Apparently, Tim Burton LOVES Christmas because a lot of his movies are set during the holidays. Batman Returns is no exception. You got a crazy Danny DeVito, exploding Christmas packages and Batman hanging bad guys from the tree with care.

3 Godfathers

This John Wayne classic about half-hearted outlaws trying to do the right thing for an orphan is a must watch this holiday season.

Christmas Evil

This weird horror film is director John Waters' favorite Christmas movie. I think that should tell you everything you need to know.

Trading Places

This is my personal favorite on this list. Eddie and Dan are HILARIOUS together. And this movie features one of the most intense and wildest Christmas parties of all time.
