The Kurth Memorial Library in Lufkin is opening up the stacks. Since the start of this pandemic patrons of the library, myself included, have been able to check out books online, and stop in and pick them up. Now things have relaxed a bit more. The stacks are open to the public again. There have also been additional political books added, since this is an election year.

Books are on a 3 day hold after being returned. After they clean all the books, they give them even more time to sit and make very sure they don't have any contaminants. That might be a bit of overkill, as no reported corona virus cases have been from contact. Things like packages and surfaces don't seem to be the issue. It might slow down the flow of information a bit, but surely a minor inconvenience, and better safe than sorry.
