A reboot of Men in Black doesn’t sound all that appealing — especially ever since we learned that the proposed 21 Jump Street / MiB crossover is no longer in the works. But when you bring Chris Hemsworth into the equation, suddenly a Men in Black reboot sounds pretty damn attractive. Handsome, even.

According to Variety, Hemsworth is in early talks to star in the new Men in Black movie, which is being described as a spinoff, though it sounds more like a reboot to us. Neither Will Smith nor Tommy Lee Jones will be reprising their roles from the first three films; they’ll be replaced by newer, younger agents…like Chris Hemsworth, maybe.

While Sony would presumably pair Hemsworth with an actor of color (like a Michael B. Jordan, perhaps? Eh? Ehhhh?), it would be kind of awesome if they landed Danny McBride for a co-starring role, too. What little comedic chemistry the two had in the trailers for that fake Crocodile Dundee sequel was too appealing to let go to waste.

Iron Man writers Art Marcum and Matt Holloway are scripting this alleged “spinoff,” with The Fate of the Furious director F. Gary Gray at the helm. Like the previous films, the new Men in Black is based on the comic book series of the same name, and centers on a pair of agents who work for a secret organization that polices intergalactic species on Earth.

The new Men in Black is currently set for a May 17, 2019 release.
