Madonna is making her directorial debut in ‘W.E.,’ and after winning a Golden Globe for Best Original Song, fans can now feast their eyes on the cover for the original motion picture soundtrack.

The cover shows the two main characters of the film, Wallis Simpson (Andrea Riseborough) and King Edward VIII (James D’Arcy), engaging in a passionate kiss on the beach. The image is taken from a scene from the film, touted as “one of the greatest love stories of the twentieth century,” which fans can get a glimpse of in the movie’s trailer.

According to the press release, Abel Korzeniowski’s score was “recorded in April 2011 at Abbey Road Studios in London with a 60-piece orchestra conducted by Terry Davies including piano, violin and viola solos.”

Korzeniowski was inspired by the theme of “obsession” in the film, as well as the “irrational compulsion to sacrifice everything and anything for love – a love that could easily be just an illusion.”

The soundtrack will be released digitally on Tuesday, Jan. 31, and will feature ‘Masterpiece,’ Madge’s award-winning original tune. The song, which plays during the end credits of the film, will also be included on Madonna’s forthcoming solo album, set to be released this spring.
