Don’t Hate Beyonce….At Least

Stop hating on BEYONCE for accepting money from MOAMMAR GADHAFI's son -- turns out she donated it to charity long ago.

Beyoncé had been criticized after leaked U.S. State Department documents revealed that she'd accepted a big check from MUTASSIM GADHAFI to perform at a New Year's Eve party in St. Barts in 2009.  But her spokeswoman says in a statement to ABC News, "All monies paid to Beyoncé for her performance at a private party at Nikki Beach St. Barts on New Year's Eve 2009, including the commissions paid to her booking agency, were donated to the earthquake relief efforts in Haiti, over a year ago."  The spokeswoman added, "Once it became known that the third party promoter was linked to the [Gadhafi] family, the decision was made to put that payment to a good cause."

This information was made public a day after NELLY FURTADO told fans via Twitter that she was donating the million bucks she earned for performing for the Gadhafi family in 2007 to charity.  So far, other celebrities who the State Department documents also revealed as having accepted money for such performances, including USHER and MARIAH CAREY, haven't commented.

So I guess we can hate on Usher and Mariah Carey...that is until they give their money to charity.  I don't think that it should be that hard to do a little background check to figure out who you are doing a

show for.  But you never know who will be a bad guy in the future, so I think this kind of stuff happening is inevitable,  so don't hate!
