The East Texas Bombers have a lot to be thankful for, and have been getting lots of support from the community. Their recent Skate-a-Thon supporting soldier and veteran suicide awareness and prevention went well!

The community really came out in support for this event and they raised $2100 for stopsoldiersuicide.org and collectively skated almost 2,500 laps! That is a lot of times around the Lufkin Armed Services Reserve Center. These women have shown that they really care about more than just lacing up their skate, and are looking to make a positive impact on our community, while benefiting from their sport in tons of ways.

The East Texas Bombers Roller Derby League has also begun their fundraising activities from their May 28th bout. Yes you read that right a "bout", that is what they are called. Each game of derby, called a “bout,” and is played between two teams, each with five players in a lineup all at once on a, in this case, flat track. Each lineup is made up of one pivot, three blockers, and a jammer. This next bout will be at the newly remolded convention area inside the Nacogdoches Expo Center! They will be donating a portion of the proceeds to the American Legion to help support the Wreaths Across America project. If you would like to help them out their current fundraising project is located here: https://www.bonfirefunds.com/east-texas-bombers-redfriday-fundraiser

Additionally, the Bombers area also are looking for sponsors for other upcoming bouts, and anyone interested can email me at sponsorship@easttexasbombers.com
