First COVID-19 Death in Nacogdoches County Confirmed by TX DSHS

The Texas Department of State Health Services is reporting the first Nacogdoches County COVID-19 related death. The Nacogdoches County Emergency Management Office confirmed the report in this post on their Facebook page:

DSHS just confirmed another positive case and Nacogdoches's first COVID-19 related death. These two additions are not the same individual. We did receive word that the additional confirmed case is not hospitalized and it is not travel related.
To this date, DSHS has not standardized the information it releases to us locally. Often it is simply positive/negative test results-- no names, sources of exposure, recovery status, etc. We understand your frustrations for wanting more information and continue to appeal the state for more details to release to the public.

Up to this point, we have shared only results confirmed by DSHS as a means to ensure accurate, verified information is released.
