Free Help For Back To School Items

The Junior League of Lufkin's Back to School Bonanza is going to look a little different for 2020-21. This year it will be a drive through event, at the Pitser Garrison Convention Center at 601 N. 2nd Street in Lufkin. Saturday August 8th from 8am  - 1p.

Parents are encouraged to pre-register for the event. This will keep everything going smoothly at the Lufkin Civic Center.. You can pre-register at www.juniorleagueoflufkin.org. This will save you time the day of the event. Pre-registration ends Friday July 31st, so do it as soon as possible.

This is an amazing help for students Pre-K through 12th grade in Angelina County. The Junior League of Lufkin has gotten together with churches, businesses, and other service organizations around the county to make it happen. They just want to help kids that need it get everything they need for back to school.

Students will get a free backpack filled with school supplies, health kits, uniforms, socks, shoes, and undergarments. Pre-registered families will pick up the items the day of the event by name starting at 8am. You must provide a current report card or school schedule along with parent/guardian photo id.

I am so glad that they are doing this, for family's all over Angelina County, and they really hope to have enough supplies for everyone. You can make a difference if you want to help add to what they have. b2sb@juniorleagueoflufkin.org
