Update: We now know what Jodie Sweetin meant by "a lot of people that have been talked about for like 30 years are going to be on the show"! '80s teen pop dreamboats New Kids on the Block are set for an appearance on Fuller House Season 2, according to a photo of Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie and Andrea Barber shared on the show's Twitter account today (August 18).

Fuller House has finally learned to accept one noticeable vacancy, though: Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, who appeared on the original Full House series as youngest Tanner daughter Michelle, will absolutely-positively not be around when the show returns for Season 2.

Long before Fuller House's February 26 premiere on Netflix, rumors spread that the twins were considering a guest appearance. Slowly, though, hope dwindled until Lori Loughlin confirmed the Season 1 finale's filming finished without a trace of an Olsen on set.

Still, fans kept the faith that that Mary Kate and Ashley would consider a Season 2 appearance. Now, though, that also looks like a pipe dream as Sweetin, who plays Stephanie, has confirmed the show is throwing up its arms and surrendering. In spite of the cast's efforts, they're finally accepting the M-K+A loss.

"We’ve tried everything,” Sweetin told Entertainment Tonight. “I think we’ve kinda given up.”

Still, that's not to say there aren't some noteworthy guest stars to get excited about.

"We have a lot," Sweetin said. "A lot of people that have been talked about for like 30 years are going to be on the show. It's going to be a lot of fun."

Well, we already know Stephanie will find a new love when Fuller House re-opens its doors. Joey, too, will introduce his significant other and kids. Yes, the estate's expansion will happen with or without The Olsens, so here's hoping the ladies appreciate a haphazard greeting card around the holidays in their cold New York City apartments.

And while the Olsens might have snubbed production, it doesn't mean production won't address Michelle, in future episodes. As Season 1 proved, writers love a little Michelle-pointed shade now and again:

Think Fuller House is fine without the twins, or should the show keep pushing for them to make a cameo? Share your thoughts in the comments.
