The Pines Theater is showing It's A Wonderful Life Friday, (Dec 21st) at 7pm.  George Bailey has so many problems he is thinking about ending it all - and it's Christmas! As the angels talk to George, we see his life in flashback. As George is about to jump from a bridge, he ends up rescuing his guardian angel, Clarence - who then shows George what his town would have looked like if it hadn't been for all his good deeds over the years.

The movie is based on a short story and booklet The Greatest Gift. It was adapted for the big screen and came out in 1946, and is in Black and White. James Stewart is George Baily in what some might say is his most iconic role. Though the movie was not a blockbuster, it did okay when it first came out. But in later years it was considered one of the greatest movies ever made, and is on the list at number 25.

I am sure movie goers watched this very movie, there at the pines when it first came out in 1946. This movie along with others that came out after World War II were paramount to healing a nation.
