When you're hot, you're hot. We continue in this cycle of high humidity, heat advisories, and rain chances. There is only a 20% chance of rain today, Wednesday August 20th 2019. Doesn't seem like much, but a pop up shower this afternoon could send the humidity soaring. There is at least a 20% chance of rain every day this week. Kinda cloudy today, but less than earlier in the week.

Humidity stays around 90% today with a high near 96, with the humidity pushing us to a heat index as high as 108. That means the heat advisory is here to stay. They have extended it, even though yesterday will be the hottest day of the week. The isolated afternoon thunderstorms won't do much to cool us down, if they happen at all.

Plan on indoor activities during the hottest part of the day. After about 11am, it's going to hit 90 degrees, and we will only go up fro there. Sunblock for sure if you are outside hanging out in the midday sun.

Another round of schools start on Monday East Texas, most notably Nacogdoches ISD.  With the exception of colleges, everyone will be back to school this coming Monday. Remind your kids that they need to drink during the day. It's hard to get a sip in between classes, but knowing where the water fountains are is half the battle. Stay hydrated out there, and you will avoid a lot of heat related illnesses.
