More East Texas Restaurants Are Closing in Early 2026

(KNUE-FM) We have just kicked off 2026 and things are a little crazy already here in East Texas. We all want this to be a fantastic year, but we are seeing too many restaurant closures to kick off the new year.

Restaurants That Have Closed in Tyler So Far

Recently, one of my coworkers wrote about three Tyler restaurants closing. Those restaurants were Roma’s Italian Kitchen & Bar, Razzoo’s, and Corner Bakery.

It’s always disappointing to hear about restaurants closing because that means more hard-working East Texans that are looking for work. But from what I am seeing on social media there are more restaurants to add to the list of ones that have closed.

Newest East Texas Closures Reported on Social Media

The two newest restaurants to add to the list are Hangry Joe’s which was located near the UT Tyler campus. I also saw on social media that Huddle House in Kilgore has removed all signage from the building as they have closed their doors too.

While we all know that it’s important to support our favorite local restaurants, we also know that people are struggling right now so there is less money to go out to eat. But when you do go out to eat make sure you are going to your favorite places because they definitely need the support right now.
