What To Know About The Blue Bell Lone Star Scoop Tour

Y’all know that I’m a Blue Bell fan. It’s a Texas staple, and it’s the best – this is the hill I’m willing to die on. I’d put Blue Bell up against any other brand. Don’t argue, it’s not up for discussion.

So naturally, when I heard about the Lone Star Scoop Tour, I had to do some digging to find out what the deal was. Have you heard about it?

What is the Lone Star Scoop Tour?

According to the Blue Bell website, during the Lone Star Scoop tour the "Blue Bell-branded special events truck and trailer will tour throughout Texas, handing out free hand-dipped ice cream, frozen snacks, and merchandise to give back to the communities that have supported [them] for over 100 years.”

There you have it. They are driving around handing out free Blue Bell ice cream and swag. That’s it. And you know what? I think it’s AWESOME. It kicked off on March 1^st and – at least as of right now – only has dates and locations listed through March 13^th. Obviously, it started in Brenham, where the factory is. After that, all the listed locations are in and around the San Antonio area.

Will it Make its Way to Deep East Texas?

The website promises that more cities and dates will be added. Does that include Deep East Texas? As of right now, there are no locations around here that are listed. However, I have no problem seeing them set up on the brick streets of Nacogdoches, or 1^st Street in downtown Lufkin. Knowing people around here, there’s probably already a petition started somewhere that requests a tour stop.

Until there’s a definitive answer about whether or not the Lone Star Scoop Tour will come through Deep East Texas, I’ll keep an eye on the Blue Bell website and socials and will do my best to keep you posted!
