18-Wheeler Full of Brisket Goes Up in Flames on I-35 in Texas

My goodness! I'm clutching my pearls over here. Partially because I'm hoping the driver got out of the truck before sustaining any injuries, but mostly because the thought of all that beautiful brisket burning to a crisp.

Drivers on Interstate 35 in Texas probably didn’t expect their commute to smell like a giant barbecue pit. But, as you can see in the video at the bottom of this article, an 18-wheeler hauling a full load of brisket went up in flames.

Brisket Means A Lot to Texans

In Texas, brisket isn’t just food. It’s part of the culture. Barbecue restaurants take pride in slow-smoking it for hours until it’s tender and flavorful. That’s why this accident stood out so much. People in other states are probably laughing at the irony: one of Texas’s most iconic dishes literally went up in smoke on a Texas highway.

Cleanup crews spent several hours removing debris and ensuring the roadway was safe before reopening traffic. While the cause remains under investigation, the charred remains of the truck and its cargo became a brief but memorable roadside spectacle for those passing through.

On a personal note, it's a good thing I wasn't there to witness this catastrophe in person because I don't think I could live with the visions haunting me at night.
