New Texas Millionaire Scores $2 Million on Scratch Ticket From Denison Store

Please join me in congratulating the newest Texas millionaire, courtesy of the Texas Lottery. The latest to hit the jackpot is a Denison resident who wisely chose to remain anonymous. I’m pretty sure I would too, because I know I’d be hearing from friends I never even knew I had. 

When it comes to any form of gambling, I’m as pessimistic as it gets. Sure, I’ve won a little money on lottery tickets or at the casino over the years, but I’ve wasted way more than I’ve won. But I must admit to being tempted to throw down a few bucks on a scratch-off every time I write about a big jackpot winner.

Where the $2 Million Winning Ticket Was Sold

The lucky player won $2 million in the Millionaire’s Club scratch ticket game with a ticket they bought at Joe’s Mini Mart, located at 800 W. Crawford St., in Denison, according to a press release. Since the winning ticket was purchased there, the business is eligible for a $10,000 bonus thanks to the Texas Lottery’s Retailer Bonus Program. 

If you have an extra $30 lying around, you could be the next to score a couple of million in the Millionaire's Club game. That was only the first of four $2 million prizes to be claimed. The overall odds of winning a prize are one in 3.54, including break-even prizes.

Aside from awarding billions of dollars in prizes to players since its inception in 1992, the Texas Lottery has also given billions of dollars to support education in the Lone Star State, as well as Texas veterans.
