LAFAYETTE, La. - Now that construction is in full swing for the Lafayette, Louisiana location of Buc-ee's, 3400 Louisiana Avenue, near I-10, many people all over Acadiana will soon be applying for work. And, taking a look at the hourly wages and salaries Buc-ee's pays, it's easy to see why.

Taking a look at the company's dress code policy, Buc-ee’s has a pretty strict appearance policy.

Before Buc-ee's in Lafayette starts taking applications, there are a few things you should be aware of before trying to work there.

Buc-ee’s Has A Very Specific Look For Employees

When you walk into into a Buc-ee’s you’ll notice something pretty quickly...the employees have a very consistent appearance.

The company’s dress code calls for employees to wear a solid red collared shirt along with tan, khaki or black pants. Workers are also expected to wear closed-toe shoes. All of this is obviously pretty standard with many company's dress code rules.

But the rules go well beyond shirts and pants.

In other words, if you're working behind the counter serving up barbecue or helping customers find their favorite Beaver Nuggets, Buc-ee’s wants you looking a certain way.

Can You Work at Buc-ee’s If You Have Tattoos?

Yes, having tattoos doesn't automatically mean you're out of the running, but the issue is whether or not the tattoos can be seen.

According to the dress code posted at buc-ees.com/careers -

"Store employees are not allowed to wear visible tattoos, body piercings, tongue posts, unnatural colored hair, open toe shoes, torn or faded clothing."

A tattoo on your upper arm might be easy enough to cover with a long-sleeved shirt, but a tattoo on your hand, neck or face is obviously a different story.

Why Does Buc-ee’s Have A Tattoo Policy?

Buc-ee’s publicly lists its dress code and appearence requirements, but the company doesn't provide any detailed explanation specifically saying why it doesn't want employees showing tattoos.

Would This Stop You From Working At Buc-ee’s?

For anyone with a few tattoos that can easily be covered, the policy may not be much of a problem. But, if you have highly visible tattoos on your hands, neck or face, Buc-ee’s tattoo policy could make getting hired a bit more difficult.
