(KMDL-FM) You will probably want to argue with me on this fact, and by doing so, you will absolutely prove my point. The point? Americans love to complain. And you replied in your head, thinking, "No, we don't," and then I guess one of us is right.

And if there were ever a realm in which complaints were born and raised, it would have to be the fast food industry. We all have our favorite fast food franchises. We all love to complain about those restaurants when they get our orders wrong.

Which Fast Food Chain Has the Worst Burger, Not the Worst Customer Service?

But his article is less about "they left my french fries out," and more about "geez, this food just sucks." What we have for you today are the results of a study that was done online by the culinary website Tasting Table.

That website used social media feedback, customer experiences, and general information about ingredients and store policy to create its list. They've published the entire list on their website, and you can view the 21 American Burger Chains Ranked, Worst to Best.

The Best Fast Food Burger In America Isn't Available in Louisiana, Yet

By contrast, the number one chain in all of the land, as far as fast food burgers go, has no locations in the state. That's not because we don't want them, they just haven't expanded this far east...yet.

You probably figured out the burger chain that led the Tasting Table list was In-N-Out Burger. We don't have those here, but we do have the number two on the list, which is Five Guys. Shake Shack came in at number three, followed by Culver's, a midwestern chain that is expanding across the country, and finally rounding out the top five was another chain not too familiar to Louisiana tastes, The Habit Burger Grill.

Whataburger, Freddies, Checkers, Wendy's, McDonald's, and Burger King fared well on the list. And when you consider that a lot of the criteria for the list were made up from social media comments, that's a bit surprising simply because of the huge number of social media comments those very popular brands create.

The Worst Fast Food Hamburger in America Comes From Jack in the Box

But the one chain that the Tasting Table study found to be the best at being the worst was the burger chain that, through the years, has offered some of the strangest advertising in the history of television. Yes, I am speaking of Jack in the Box.

Oddly enough, I did my own personal survey of friends and co-workers and found that the main reason people go to Jack in the Box is not burgers, it's tacos. I have had them; they aren't bad. However, the burgers were not my favorites.

The Tasting Table study noted comments about soggy buns, greasy patties, and high prices, any of which will get you negative comments on social media. Look, you might love Jack in the Box, and if you do, good for you. Go write something nice about them on your Facebook page.

If you'd like to see the complete Tasting Table list, here it is. And tell us, what's your go-to fast food burger? Did it make the list? Now that's not fair to include local hamburger favorites like Morvant's, Broaddus Burger, or Twins; those aren't fast food places, those are good food places.
