I know that I, like many people, was shocked when I watched America's Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders on Netflix and found out exactly how much, or how little, they were making! I don't know exactly what I expected their pay to be, but it certainly wasn't what was revealed! The new season just landed on Netflix, and I'm sure many of us were happy when we got the news on this new season!

If you’ve been keeping up with America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders on Netflix, you know this payday has been a long time coming. Last season pulled back the curtain on the squad’s grueling schedule, sky-high standards, and- let’s be real- shockingly low pay. Despite being the most famous cheerleading squad on the planet, many of these women were earning little more than minimum wage for all that hard work and sparkle.

How Much of a Raise Did the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders Get?

But in Season 2, which just dropped, we finally get the update fans have been hoping for: a massive 400% raise. Yep- $75 an hour, $1,600 per game, and a whole lot of happy cheerleaders. The fight for better pay took years (and a few lawsuits), but it looks like the Dallas Cowboys organization finally decided it was time to put some serious respect- and money- on those iconic uniforms.

How Much Were the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders Making?

To put this into perspective: before all this, some Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders were making around $200 per game. Two. Hundred. Dollars. For hours of dancing, rehearsals, appearances, and representing one of the richest franchises in all of sports. They were also clocking in at about $15 an hour for practices- which, considering the level of performance they’re expected to deliver, was borderline absurd.

Fans were shocked when these numbers came out. Lawsuits were filed. Social media lit up. And the Netflix docuseries really poured gasoline on the fire, exposing how little these women were getting paid while the Cowboys organization was pulling in billions.

At the end of the day, this raise isn’t just about the money (though let’s be real- $1,600 a game sounds a whole lot better than $200)! It’s about finally recognizing the hard work, talent, and straight-up hustle these women bring to the field week after week. The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders have always been icons- now their paychecks finally reflect it.

And while there’s still room for more progress (hello, health benefits?), this 400% bump feels like a long-overdue win for the squad- and a little bit of justice served.

Season 2 of America's Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders is streaming on Netflix now.
