Baseball season is officially back, and while some fans are keeping score inning by inning, I’ll be honest- I’m mostly here for the food!

Because if there’s one thing Texas ballparks are gonna do, it’s go big. And this year? They’re not just stepping up their game, they’re going completely off the rails in the best way possible.

Enter: the brisket donut.

Houston Astros Debut the Wild Brisket Donut

Over at Daikin Park, home of the Houston Astros, the 2026 season menu is already turning heads, but one item is stealing the spotlight, rightfully so, I think: the brisket donut.

Yes, it’s exactly as wild as it sounds.

This over-the-top creation features savory smoked brisket, deep-fried in the shape of a donut, coated in BBQ sauce, and topped with creamy mac and cheese. Not on the side, on top! Instead of having to choose between brisket and mac and cheese, Daikin Park concessions chef James Hackl said “why not both?!”

For $18.49 you can grab one at sections 134 and 409 at Daikin Park, and fair warning: this is not a light snack. This is a full-on, messy, bring-extra-napkins kind of situation.

Why This Might Be the Most Texas Food Ever

The whole idea came from chefs experimenting with bold, fun concepts, and somehow this one stuck- which makes perfect sense. It’s smoky, savory, indulgent, and just a little bit outrageous, which feels very on-brand for Texas food culture.

It’s comfort food turned all the way up, and the kind of thing you probably won’t find anywhere else.

Other Wild Texas Ballpark Foods You’ll Find

As if the brisket donut wasn’t enough, the Astros rolled out a full lineup of creative (and slightly unhinged) new eats.

There’s the massive “Boomin Onion,” a giant deep-fried onion that can be loaded up with everything from hot honey chicken to BBQ pork burnt ends.

And then there’s a pizza inspired by the team’s iconic Crawford Dog, topped with hot dog slices, BBQ sauce, bacon-onion jam, and mustard. Yes, all on pizza.

Basically, if it sounds like something that shouldn’t work… they probably made it anyway!

At the end of the day, this is exactly why ballpark food is having a moment.

It’s not just about grabbing a quick bite anymore, it’s about trying something you can’t get anywhere else, something a little over-the-top, and something you’ll definitely be talking about after the game.
