Fans can show their appreciation for their favorite artists in a myriad of ways. Some clever and some questionable. And sometimes they're simply misguided. Today, Kendall and Kylie Jenner apologized for selling vintage-inspired shirts that had pictures of themselves superimposed over images of hip-hop legends Tupac and The Notorious B.I.G.

This week, it was brought to Voletta Wallace's attention (Biggie's mother) that the two Jenners had a series of t-shirts with a collage of images, including one with her son, without permission. Some had Kylie and Kendall's brand's logo, KK, stamped over a rapper's likeness. Ms. Wallace rightfully then joined in the public outcry on social media and Biggie's estate eventually threatened to sue.

Earlier today, Kendall tweeted a screenshot of a note from an iPhone with an apology. She claims that the designs "were not well thought out" and extended an apology to the artists' families. The clothes are no longer for sale. They hope to learn from this mistake.

It's interesting to note that Kendall sent out the apology via Twitter, where she has 22.7 million followers, and nothing on her Instagram, where she has 82.1 million followers. Kylie has also tweeted the same screenshot, but posted nothing to her Instagram in relation to this incident.

The sisters run their own brand Kendall + Kylie. A search for "Tupac" and "Notorious B.I.G." yields nothing on their site.
