The Nacogdoches Parks And Recreation Department put on their long-standing fishing event this past Saturday, January 22nd, 2022 bright and early at 8 am. Temperatures hovered just above freezing, while everyone registered to compete in the kid's fishing tournament.

The free kid fish was held at Lakeside Park and it took a lot of great organizations to make it a success. Texas Parks and Wildlife fully stocked the pond at 4800 Pearl Street behind Big Lots.

The Nacogdoches Bass Club coordinated the weigh in, while the Nacogdhces Fire Department grilled sausages. Head Start supplied bait, SFA's Sigma Nu brought some drinks, and the Hudson Fire Department Search and Rescue Team even stopped by for a meet and greet.
