Lauryn Hill is often in the news for wrong reasons and now, the artist is being sued by a musician who claims to have been fired by Hill without ever being paid for his work.

According to trombone player Matthew Hartnett, he collaborated with Hill during the summer of 2016 and was offered a 10-week contract to join her on tour, TMZ reports, Hartnett says he was then released from working with Hill before the tour began and claims to have received no money since then.

It's not Ms. Hill's first time running into financial problems. In 2012, it was reported that the singer owed $1.8 million in taxes from income earned from 2005 to 2007. The singer said she stopped paying federal and state taxes after she felt it was necessary to withdraw from society.

After pleading guilty to three charges of tax evasion and paying back only $50,000 of the $554,000 she owed, Hill was sentenced to three months in prison and three months of house arrest. The singer was eventually released on Oct. 4, 2013.

Since then, Hill hasn't run into any other money issues but has had a problem with showing up late for her own concerts. Earlier this year, the singer was three hours late to a concert in Pittsburgh but blamed her tardiness on snow.
