Have you ever tried to lose weight by cutting your carbohydrate intake? It seems that many people have been pushed into a theory about carbohydrates that isn't completely true.

Carbs aren't characters in the latest Marvel movie, they aren't inherently good or bad.  They just exist, and there are many different types.

There is a free four-part Texas A&M Agrilife Extension series called "Healthy Carbohydrates" at the Lewis Toran Community Center at 1012 Kurth Drive in Lufkin. The series continues this Tuesday, July 18th, 2022.

Find Out How Carbohydrates Work In The Body At This Free Series

Not all carbohydrates are created equally. Any carbohydrate you buy that is a processed, shelf-stable snack, might not be the best.

This series will teach you how to incorporate healthy carbohydrates into your life with a simple meal plan. Though this series is not specifically targeted at people trying to manage diabetes, it could be helpful.

Its goal is to teach about the relationship between carbohydrates and health. The lively and informative sessions are delivered in a casual, social atmosphere.

To prepare yourself for a potential incident, always keep your vet's phone number handy, along with an after-hours clinic you can call in an emergency. The ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center also has a hotline you can call at (888) 426-4435 for advice.

Even with all of these resources, however, the best cure for food poisoning is preventing it in the first place. To give you an idea of what human foods can be dangerous, Stacker has put together a slideshow of 30 common foods to avoid. Take a look to see if there are any that surprise you.
