Lena Dunham—accomplished actress, writer, producer and director—reached a major achievement February 1 when she finally looked "cool for the first time in like, 17 years"—well, according to her Girls co-star Jemima Kirke, anyway.

Ahead of the February 12 series finale premiere of her hit HBO show, Dunham and her co-stars—Kirke, Allison Williams and Zosia Mamet—participated in a TimesTalks panel called "A Final Farewell to the Cast of HBO’s Girls" on Wednesday evening, where her admittedly updated sartorial style apparently impressed some of her fellow titular Girls.

Pairing a mesh skirt with a light blue and black crop-top, Dunham looked playfully trendy, her typically short hair falling in a long ombre cascade.

Meanwhile, Williams looked chic in a crisp burnt orange dress (complete with mock Peter Pan collar). Wearing a mixed print blouse and high-waist trousers, Mamet opted for an updated '70s look, while Kirke rocked a bohemian cornflower blue dress with bell sleeves.
