Lindsay Lohan is turning a new page in her life, and despite having zero intentions of returning to her former self, she's not allowing controversies to control her life any longer.

“I’m a normal, nice person. A good person," the 31-year-old actress expressed in an interview with The New York Times of the bad rep that's troubled her career. "I don’t have any bad intentions. And my past has to stay in the past."

These days, as Lohan sees it, the past — from the ceaseless tabloid coverage to her family feuds and party girl ways — is all dead to her now. "Like, people have to just let go of it and stop bringing it up because it's not—it's gone," she emphasized, "And that's the most important thing to me."

“I think success is the best revenge — and silence, as a presence,” she went on explaining her escape from the cameras in lieu of a more peaceful retreat. The journey ended her up in Dubai (where encroaching on one's privacy with photography can be criminalized) whose laws appealed to her want for shelter.

In another revelation during the sit-down, the Hollywood darling called to mind the incident that changed everything for her: the public assault Lohan suffered at the hands of her former fiancé, Egor Tarabasov, which was caught on video back in 2016.

"It happened, here in Mykonos, on the beach," she recalled, evoking the memory that inspired her to take back narrative that had been stripped from her for so long. "And that was the moment where I switched and I was like, 'I'm going to take control of my life completely, and fire everyone and just rehire them when I'm ready.'"

"And that's why I'm here today, because it was on that beach where I got hit," she continued. "I said, 'You know what? If there's anything I can do, I'm going to get that beach. It's going to be my beach.'"

And so it was. Earlier this month, the big screen player-turned-international businesswoman debuted her first Lohan Beach House on Kalo Livadi Beach in Greece, and she's already setting her sights on a second location.

But in case you had any doubts about Lohan's return to stardom, keep your eyes peeled. The entrepreneur already has a list of projects lined up ahead, including a Vanderpump Rules-style reality show on MTV, a British series called Sick Note, and several others she's secured in her absence.

Case in point, a comeback is on the horizon.
