Local Lufkin Restaurants Feed Essential Workers
Snow, Ice, and below freezing temperatures won't stop our first responders and essential workers from taking care of business. So who will feed those people as they are out there risking their lives to take care of us? So far I have been heartened to see a couple of local businesses step up and make sure everyone can still get a hot meal.
Mom's Diner on Frank St. In Lufkin is open with a limited menu. I say limited, it's limited to their delicious burgers and sides, so limited only to awesome. They know there are workers that have to be out in this, and they were open and serving.
Be Blessed BBQ was also getting the lunches that emergency responders and essential workers. They were giving back to those who give daily for us.
If you know of any local business openings, or responses to the harsh weather we are experiencing, as always you can let me know via email. dan.patrick@townsquaremedia.com
There have been a few notable closures today as well, February 15th, 2021. The City of Lufkin has closed City Hall. Trash pickup didn't run today, but they will get to it as soon as it can be done. Ellen Trout Zoo, Kurth Memorial Library and the Pitser Garrison Convention Center, Lufkin Municipal Court, and the Kurth Memorial Animal Shelter will be closed to the public till further notice. Everything should tentatively be reopening on Wednesday. I think that is a little premature, since there is another storm on the way.
